The ݮƵAlumni Relations and Career Development Office (ARCDO) held a “One-Stop-Shop” for students, faculty, and staff of the ݮƵ (PUP) to have the opportunity to access essential government services on campus. They can easily secure documents such as birth certificates, IDs, and clearances without the hassle of long lines and waiting times. The event was a huge success, with many students expressing their gratitude for the convenient service provided by ARCDO on campus as various agencies set up operations at the ݮƵGymnasium from March 6-7, 2025.
The initiative aims to streamline public transactions such as identification registration, document processing, and public assistance applications. Key government agencies participating included the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), Social Security System (SSS), Pag-IBIG Fund, PhilHealth, Philsys, Land Transportation Office (LTO), Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), and National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).
According to ݮƵofficials, the collaboration with these agencies is part of the university’s commitment to providing accessible government services to its stakeholders.
“This One-Stop-Shop initiative, which ARCDO has been offering for several years, is designed to provide convenient, efficient, and accessible public services in one location. By centralizing multiple government transactions on campus, we aim to reduce the need for students to travel off-campus, minimize long queues and bureaucracy, save time and money, and enhance overall student satisfaction. It also strengthens partnerships with government agencies and creates a more student-friendly and efficient campus environment,” ARCDO Director Engr. Florinda Oquindo shared.
Students who came by the OSS said that this initiative of the school is beneficial, especially for first-timers; the cost to process these requirements has been reduced since everything is available in one location—remarkably inside the university premises. It is also helpful to students preparing for their job applications and faculty and staff in need of pertinent personal documents.
A student from Information and Technology shared, “It makes it easier po na mag-apply sa jobs kasi po nandito na po lahat yung mga IDs.” Other students also suggested having these services be offered to the university frequently to give people access to a more accessible way of processing the essential needs useful in job applications.
(“It makes it easier to apply for jobs because all the IDs are already here.” Other students also suggested having these services be offered to the university frequently to give people access to a more accessible way of processing the essential needs useful in job applications.)
The participating government agencies also assured the public of continued service improvements, including digital transactions and scheduled activities/programs. University officials encouraged everyone to maximize these kinds of services and stay updated on operational schedules through official university announcements.
